Marketex Offshore Constructions to build Integrated Template Structures for Snorre oil field
Marketex Offshore Constructions, a subsidiary of BLRT Grupp, is to build Integrated Template Structures for offshore oil and gas production for Agility Subsea Fabriction in the framework of the Snorre project.
"Audits of quality, occupational health and work safety management systems preceded signing the contract. Representatives of Equinor, the end customer in the Snorre project, visited us this spring, before the start of the works. After that we received orders to build two complete Integrated Template Structures, which would be installed in the North Sea, at the Snorre oil field. Such equipment has previously been made for industrial projects concerning the Norwegian continental shelf only in Norway," explains Ruslan Diduhh, Member of the Board of Marketex Offshore Constructions.
The expansion of the Snorre field is by far the largest improved oil recovery project on the Norwegian continental shelf, where six subsea production systems are being added. Two Integrated Template Structures for Snorre will be made by Marketex Offshore Constructions.
Integrated Template Structure serves as a foundation and protection for manifolds and trees. It consists of suction piles, bottom frame/well supporting structure, protection structure and a levelling system for underwater installation. One ITS weighs more than 300 tons.
Snorre is an oil and gas field situated in the northern part of the North Sea, which was discovered in 1979 and where Equinor, formerly Statoil, has been extracting oil and gas since 1992. The goal of the project is to increase recovery and extend the life of the oilfield by expanding the site of production and drilling new wells. Snorre field is now expected to produce beyond 2040.
